Service Description

American Red Cross Babysitters Training provides youth who are planning to babysit with the knowledge and skills necessary to give care safely and responsibly for children and infants. This training will help participants to develop leadership skills; learn how to develop a babysitting business keep themselves and others safe and help children behave; and learn about basic childcare and basic first aid. The age for this course is 10-17 years old. (NOT AN ADULT CLASS) WHAT WE GO OVER: PERFORMING CPR ON CHILDREN AND INFANTS HOW TO ASSIST SOMEONE WHO IS CHOKING (CHILDREN AND INFANTS) HOW TO ASSIST SOMEONE WHO IS UNRESPONSIVE DUE TO DROWNING AND CHOKING HOW TO BE A LEADER HOW TO BUILD A RESUME HOW TO INTERVIEW FAMILIES PERSONAL SAFETY TIP/SAFETY INSPECTIONS FEEDING, DIAPERING, HOW TO PICK UP AND HOLD INFANT EMERGENCIES: CALLING FOR HELP, ADMINISTERING INHALERS, EPI PEN, DIABETIC EMERGENCIES, SEIZURES, CHOKING, CPR, FIRST AID, LIFE-THREATENING BLEEDING GOOD SAMARITIAN LAWS CPR HEALTH AND WELL-BEING CERTIFICATE UPON COMPLETION OF COURSE IN PERSON. STUDENTS WILL RECEIVE A LUNCH BREAK. THEY CAN BRING A LUNCH AND A DRINK. LUNCH WILL BE HAD IN CLASSROOM. NO OTHER MATERIALS ARE NEEDED. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO PURCHASE A BABYSITTING MANUAL YOU CAN PURCHASE IN THE ONLINE STORE IN THE "SHOP NOW" SECTION. STUDENT WILL RECEIVE BABYSITTING BOOK DAY OF CLASS. ALSO KEEP YOUR CHILDS SKILLS UP TO DATE WITH PURCHASING A TAKE HOME MANNIKIN ALSO LOCATED IN THE "SHOP NOW" SECTION. STUDENT WILL RECEIVE DAY OF CLASS.

Cancellation Policy
CANCELLATION/REBOOK POLICY: Our cancellation and rebooking policy states that all transactions are non-refundable once a class is booked due to limited seating. In the event of a no-show, full payment for the class is required to rebook. Rebooking is free if done more than 72 hours before the class; however, a $50 fee applies if rebooking occurs within 72 hours. You have 30 days from the original class date to reschedule, and if you do not have the required materials for an Instructor course, a $75 rebooking fee will apply. Additionally, if you are enrolled in a blended class and have not completed the online session by class time, you will need to pay full cost of class and rebook for a future class. LATE POLICY: Students are allowed to arrive up to 5 minutes past their scheduled time. Arrivals beyond this 5-minute grace period will require students to reschedule in accordance with the cancellation/no show policy, with no exceptions permitted. WEATHER CANCELLATIONS: If extreme weather conditions arise, instructors may issue a reschedule email at their discretion. Students have the option to select one future date to attend. If a student cannot attend the chosen date, they should refer to the cancellation policy. Should extreme weather occur again on the selected date, students can choose one additional date. Refunds will not be provided.
